New uniform will stanch wounds in 20 seconds

Blackhawk Products Group, a world-known manufacturer of military uniforms and accessories, designed a unique suit for Special Forces. Designers say that it will protect soldiers from fire, and staunch wounds in 20-25 seconds – CrunchGear reports.

High Performance Fighting Uniform, as Blackhawk designers call it, is comfortable, good-looking, and versatile. It possesses fireproof characteristics, although the materials it’s made form are ordinary: 70 percent cotton, 30 percent nylon. Nevertheless, the fabric is tissued in such way as to become fireproof, the manufacturer says.

The new uniform offers another major advantage: it has a system of embedded bands that could be tightened in case of injury and stop blood loss until medical assistance arrives.

The manufacturers say that the U.S. Marines with whom they worked in close contact already had a chance to test such supersuits in combat. So far, there has been no official response from the U.S. military concerning the uniform. The cost of one such suit has been announced at $ 500.
