In accordance with the plans of the combat training for reconnaissance forces, the camp training is under way, being one of the most important stages of combat training. The primary purpose of personnel training during this period is to improve the scouts' field proficiency.
Due to the scrupulous approach of both commanding officers and personnel to the exercises, practically every element of the scout combat training programme is successfully practiced up to the mark. The core subjects are special tactics and range firing, designed for reconnaissancemen to increase proficiency in precise orientation on unfamiliar terrain, confident movement on azimuth, quiet movement, camouflage techniques, performing reconnaissance in a variety of ways, as well as quick and accurate getting of object coordinates and skilful use of authorized armaments. A new component has been added to the system of combat training of reconnaissance forces, which now includes the elements of military mountaineering.
The camp period is going on. Its most difficult stage is still ahead and will include operations with regular reconnaissance units, when reconnaissancemen will require all the skills and knowledge gained in the first half of the training year.
