High quality to combat training

March 29, 2010
The combat training programme is underway.

Reconnaissance units’ personnel of Ukrainian Land Forces timely achieved the scheduled deployment to field training sites in the first quarter of 2010. The field training programme included night and day fire practice with the use of combat vehicles, light anti-tank weapons, and small arms.

During field exercises, the personnel practiced their tactical, engineer, and military topography skills. Some units employed the Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) enabling them to improve the effectiveness of the exercises bringing them as close as possible to combat conditions.

At the same time, a number of independent reconnaissance battalions held both joint and separate command-and-staff training exercises in order to check the preparedness of battalion commands, unit commanders to exercise control of their units during the operations conducted by multiple-branch troop formations.
