Commemorating the intelligence officers

On September 7, 2009, a solemn ceremony took place in the DIU HQ, during which the names of persons who made a significant contribution into the Defence Intelligence development and to the very last moment of their lives remained devoted to performing their duties were recorded into the Memorial Book of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

During the meeting dominated by the atmosphere of grief and respect, Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Lieutenant General Victor Hvozd made a speech. “The Defence Intelligence never forgets its employees who performed their duties honestly and responsibly. The agency puts every effort to ensure the social protection of the families,” he said. The participants honoured the intelligence officers with the minute of silence.
Representatives of the DIU departments spoke on the merits of the officers, whose names were recorded into the Memorial Book, while their families and friends thanked the DIU leaders for particular help and care.
