On September 7, 2009, a gala meeting was held in the DIU HQ on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Lieutenant General Victor Hvozd made a report in which he covered the achievements that the personnel of the Agency and the subordinate units made during the last period and thanked all the personnel for the responsible approach to performing of important tasks on providing the top state authorities with timely and unbiased intelligence. During the celebrations, the Chief of the DIU presented the personnel of the DIU departments and subordinate units the awards of the Council of National Security and Defence of Ukraine, as well as decorations of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. |
The formal part was followed by a holiday performance prepared by groups of the Academic Ensemble of the State Border Service of Ukraine and the “Oberih” singing group of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
