Greetings of the Chief of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine

On September 7, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine celebrates its professional holiday. The Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine greeted all DIU personnel and Defence Intelligence veterans on this occasion.


Dear comrades!


In accordance with Decree No. 462/92 of the President of Ukraine “On the Strategic Military Intelligence Department of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine” dated September 7 1992, the strategic-level intelligence agency was established within the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. That date is considered the beginning of the Defence Intelligence chronicle of the independent Ukraine.

In recognition of the merits of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine before the state and in order to maintain high prestige of service in the intelligence units, the Day of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine is set up as professional holiday by the Order No. 302 of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine dated June 1, 2007.

Over a short historical period, the Defence Intelligence has passed a hard way of formation and development to become one of the the most important elements of the system of national security and defence of our state.

Following the glorious combat traditions of the intelligence servicemen of the older generation, the DIU personnel show strong professionalism, persistence, selflessness and responsibility, make efforts to ensure professional and timely accomplishment of tasks on protection of the national interests of Ukraine.

On the occasion of the professional holiday, the Day of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, I heartily wish all the Defence Intelligence personnel and veterans strong health, family well-being, professional growth, happiness, peace and success in the important cause of ensuring the national security of our Homeland!
