Kyiv Association of Defence Attaches celebrates its 17th anniversary

On December 10, Kyiv Association of Defence Attaches (KAVA) held celebrations on the occasion of its 17th anniversary.
On December 10, Kyiv Association of Defence Attaches (KAVA) held celebrations on the occasion of its 17th anniversary.
On December 10, a formal reception was held by Kyiv Association of Defence Attaches (KAVA) to celebrate the 17th anniversary of its creation. Defence authorities and the representatives of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were invited to the reception.
Note: founded in November, 1992, the Association brings together military diplomats accredited in Ukraine from over 50 different states. KAVA’s primary goal is to maintain cooperative relations with the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, as well as with our country’s governmental bodies and public agencies.
Ukrainian side was represented at the reception by acting Minister of Defence of Ukraine Valeriy Ivashchenko, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vice-Admiral Igor Knyaz, Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Lieutenant-General Viktor Hvozd, and a number of other MoD officials.
Head of the defence department of Ukraine addressed the audience and expressed his appreciation of the existing cooperation between KAVA and the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and greeted the foreign defence attaches on the occasion of the Association’s anniversary.
In his turn, Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Victor Hvozd stressed the importance of cooperation with foreign defence attaches and noted, that in his speech on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of the Ukrainian Defence Intelligence, the President of Ukraine recognized “...close cooperation with foreign partners in countering the global and regional security challenges such as the problem of piracy, separatism and extremism” as being one of the critical tasks of the national defence intelligence agency”.
