Mind-reading device invented

A group of Belgian scientists announced that they have designed a device capable of transforming brain signals into words and sentences allowing dictating texts by the power of thought.

Researchers say that the small electroencephalograph device monitors the fluctuations of brain’s electrical activity, thus enabling humans to dictate texts by the power of thoughts.

The device itself is slightly bigger than a matchbox; it is attached to a specially designed cap with electrodes imbedded into it. Brain’s electrical signals are registered by the device and then forwarded to a computer via USB port. Further interpretation is carried out by specialized software.

Noteworthy are the attempts to design a device capable of interpreting brain signals previously made in the USA and Japan. Last December, American researchers announced of their experiments with computer tomography aimed at finding a way to read information from human brain. Another successful experiment was conducted by Japanese researchers. They were the first to figure how to read images that emerge in human brain.
