August 23 – the National Flag Day of Ukraine

Solemn ceremonies of hoisting the National Flag of Ukraine were held in the HQ of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine and its subordinate units
  On August 23, in consideration of Ukraine’s century-long history of state formation and its national symbols, the Ukrainian people traditionally celebrate the National Flag Day of Ukraine. This holiday is observed in order to inspire respect of citizens for the national symbols of the state.

On the occasion of the holiday solemn flag flying ceremonies were held in the DIU, HQ and its subordinate units.

Gala ceremonies of raising the National flag of Ukraine began with the construction of the personnel and congratulatory address of the DIU command representatives who announced the Presidential decree “On the National Flag Day of Ukraine” and the order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine “On the confirmation of the ceremonies of raising (lowering) the National Flag of Ukraine in the Armed Forces of Ukraine”. The personnel received congratulations on behalf of the Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine. And it was also emphasized that in every military unit each day would begin with raising the National flag of Ukraine which is a symbol of our state, its honor and dignity.

The ceremonies of Ukrainian National flag hoisting ended with ceremonial march.
