Performances staged for the children of the Defence Intelligence military and civilian personnel during the holiday season have become traditional.
This year, over 200 three to five year-old children came to see a stage performance based upon the “Twelve Months” tale. After the show, kids were invited to participate in various games and contests featuring fairy-tale characters, Father Christmas and Snow Girl. Each child received a sweet present in the end of the holiday programme.
Another good tradition of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine is to hold holiday masses on the occasions of major religious holidays. Such service was held at the Church of St. Nicholas of Mirlikia on the occasion of Christmas, January 7, 2010 by Archpriest Bohdan Shtym, prior of St. Michael’s Church. Military and civilian personnel of the DIU, as well as their family members were free to attend the service.
