90th Anniversary of Proclamation of Ukrainian Peoples Republic (UPR) and Western Ukrainian Peoples Republic (WUPR) Union Act

On the occasion of 90th Anniversary of proclamation of Ukrainian Peoples Republic and Western Ukrainian Peoples Republic union Act there was a grand meeting in the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. Aiming to educate servicemen on the basis of national and heroic, cultural and spiritual traditions of Ukrainian people there was an informing day with a topic: “UPR and WUPR union - the bright page of the Ukrainian state forming”.

Making a speech in front of attendants the doctor of historical sciences, professor of the ancient and modern Ukrainian history department in the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences of the Highest Scholl of Ukraine Volodymyr SERHICHUK told that on January 22, 1919, eternal dreams came true. These were the dreams the best sons of Ukraine lived and died for. The Ukrainian people inspired by mighty impulse of their own forces got the opportunity to join all the efforts of their sons for creation of inseparable independent Ukrainian State. Our predecessors perspicaciously underlined that conciliarism is not only union of the Ukrainian lands but first of all it is integrity of the Ukrainian nation and that happy future for Ukraine is possible only under the condition of spiritual unity, social partnership and civil consensus.
