A commemorative plaque for the intelligence officers opened

The events were held in the Defense intelligence of Ukraine dedicated to the Day of commemoration of the participants of combat operations on the territories of the foreign countries and to the 20th anniversary of the withdrawal of the Soviet troops from the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan.

In the church of the Saint Nicolas Mirlikiysky the archpriest Father Bogdan Shtim celebrated an office for the dead in the armed conflicts. After this there was a solemn opening of the Commemorative plaque, on which the names of the representatives of the military intelligence who died while performing combat tasks are engraved. The idea to perpetuate the names of the representatives of the intelligence organ originated from the Association of intelligence veterans of Ukraine and was supported by the commanders of the Defense intelligence of Ukraine.
In his address to the present audience the Chief of the Defense intelligence of Ukraine Major-general Viktor Gvozd' mentioned with gratitude, that military personnel not only preserves combat fraternity but also takes an active part in the development of the Ukrainian State. "I express a deep gratitude for the service to the Motherland and an important work for the sake of our people. Unfortunately many of our combat comrades are not already with us, but the memory about them is alive. They were true professionals who honestly performed their tasks assigned by the Motherland, not expecting neither for the ranks, nor for the awards and glory," - Viktor Ivanovich emphasized.
Also the words of gratitude were said by the father of the Hero of the Soviet Union Yaroslav Goroshko - Pavlo Kindratovich, who visited the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine for the first time and was moved by the fact that the memory about his son - hero lives in the hearts and he serves as an example to the young intelligence personnel.
The events were concluded by a solemn gathering during which the participants of the combat operations on the territories of the foreign countries were decorated with the awards of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and of the Defense intelligence of Ukraine.
