The names of 5 intelligence officers have been registered in the Memorial Book of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine

On the occasion of the Ukrainian Intelligence Day a ceremony was held to commemorate those intelligence officers who died while performing their professional duties or made a valuable contribution to the development of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
During the ceremony which took place on the eve of the celebrations 5 names came into the Memorial Book. They were Major-General M.Chernih, Major-General V.Shevchuk, Colonel V.Sapoznik, Colonel V.Galkin, and Colonel V.Kravets. The leadership of the Defence Intelligence, its personnel, veterans, relatives and friends of the deceased intelligence officers took part in the ceremony. When addressing the audience, the Chief of the Defence Intelligence Major-General V.Gvozd' said that only a few people knew about those officers and their work at the time of their life. But they served their country neither for titles nor awards. And their work deserves a true respect and recognition by the present generation of intelligence officers.
It is worth mentioning that the Memorial Book of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine was created in September, 2003. This book is a chronicle of biographies of some prominent intelligence officers and it has been kept since 1992.
