Kyiv Association of the Military Attachés has celebrated its 16th anniversary

On December 11, a gala reception was held to mark the 16th anniversary of the establishment of the Kyiv Association of the Military Attachés (KAVA).
On December 11, a gala reception was held to mark the 16th anniversary of the establishment of the Kyiv Association of the Military Attachés (KAVA).
Created in November, 1992, the organization combines military diplomats from almost 50 countries of the world, accredited in Ukraine. The main purpose of KAVA activities is to maintain cooperative ties with the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the governmental and public bodies of our country.
Ukrainian Side was represented at the ceremonial event by Minister of Defence of Ukraine Yurii Yekhanurov, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Valerii Ivashcenko, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vice-Admiral Igor Knyaz, Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Major-General Viktor Gvozd and other officials of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
Head of the defence agency of Ukraine Yurii Yekhanurov addressed the participants expressing his appreciation over the existing level of cooperation between the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and KAVA. He also felicitated foreign military attachés on the foundation anniversary of the Association.
In his greeting address Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Major-General Victor Gvozd emphasized close cooperation with other countries, international and regional organizations as a precondition for securing national interests. "The establishment of effective international cooperation and interaction in order to respond to the present challenges and threats, like terrorism, organized crime, illegal migration, trafficking of drugs and human beings, makes an increasingly important issue of today", – the head of the intelligence body of the defence agency of Ukraine said.
