On February 17, 2010, a joint briefing was held in the Defence intelligence of Ukraine on the occasion of the International Day of Native Language.
According to the UN Resolution, the International Day of Native Language is annually celebrated in Ukraine Since 2000.
A lecture on “Spiritual, ethical, and intellectual dimensions of native language as of sacred phenomenon” devoted to this occasion was delivered in the DIU HQ on February 17, 2010.
Following a good tradition we invited Galina Sahach, doctor of pedagogical studies, professor of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, member of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, academician of three international academies to deliver a lecture on this topic to the agency’s personnel.
Delivering her interesting and informative lecture, Galina Sahach noted: “…We are now on the verge of new discoveries of eternal truths of the Holy Scripture, of the true power of words of love to God and to Ukraine in the creative heritage of Taras Shevchenko, who was the real architect of our state and the Spirit of the Nation. He was the one to reveal to the world how to serve God and Ukraine by only using words of his native language. Our heart comes to the knowledge of God and to the self-cognition this way. According to Taras Shevchenko, “the word reveals the real truth”. According to the words of the poet’s spiritual daughter, Lina Kostenko – the word stands on guard of high morale and spirit of Ukrainian nation, which “searches for the genius in itself”.
