Winners of the MoD tournament dedicate their success to the victorious soldiers of the Great Patriotic War

DIU joint teams turned in a good score during the 4th Tournament of the Defence Ministry of Ukraine.
According to 2010 Sports Events Programme of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, and directive of the Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, 4th Tournament of the MoD central staff took place at the Central Athletic Club of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This year’s event was dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The Tournament incorporated 5 events: chess, match shooting, swimming, indoor football, and ping-pong. All participants were split into groups A and B. Director of the Central Athletic Club of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, World-class athlete, honoured coach of Ukraine, honoured worker of physical fitness and sports of Ukraine Col. Vadym Vysochyn was selected chief referee of the Tournament.

The team of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine won first prize in group A. DIU personnel won most medal places, particularly in women’s rifle shooting, men’s and women’s 25-meter swimming, and ping-pong.

The Defence Intelligence teams were able to perform successfully due to physical fitness and sports systemically and efficiently merged with the professional training of the DIU personnel.
