Today, Ukraine celebrates the Day of workers of space-rocket industry.

The space-rocket industry workers’ day was founded by the Presidential Decree No. 230/97 of March 13, 1997 as a holiday celebrated annually on April 12.

This holiday is very special for the Ukrainian people since our country is a member of the “Space Four” world nations. Our country’s territory is home to a large number of space enterprises that include such giants as Yuzhmash, Arsenal, and Pivdenne Design Bureau. In addition, we have a National space control and testing centre. Ukraine participates in the international Sea Launch consortium which launches Ukrainian-built Zenith-3SL carrier rockets from the Pacific Ocean-based platform.

DIU specialists, together with staffs of Special Programmes Department of the National Space Agency, National space control and testing centre have over 10-year-long experience in mastering, utilizing the latest advancements in the field of space intelligence in favour of our Motherland’s interests.

If we take a closer look at certain aspects, dimensions of our cooperation with the National Space Agency, it is safe to say that such cooperation has been fruitful. Its ultimate aim is to pursue the noble goal of ensuring Ukraine’s security, protecting its national interests.

The tasks assigned to workers of space-rocket industry fully reflect the spirit of the new millennium and Ukraine’s needs for strategic growth as a modern technologically-advanced nation.
