On February 24, 2010, the acting Minister of Defence of Ukraine awarded a banner to the Military Diplomatic Academy.
On February 24, 2010, the acting Minister of Defence of Ukraine awarded a banner to the Military Diplomatic Academy.
The presentation of the Banner became a significant event in the life of the military educational institution established in August, 2009 in compliance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The gala ceremony on the occasion of the presentation of the Banner was attended by Acting Minister of Defence of Ukraine Valeriy Ivashchenko, Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Lieutenant General Victor Hvozd, and representatives of veteran and public organizations of Ukraine.
Addressing the audience during the official ceremony, Valeriy Ivashchenko said: “The crimson banner with a proud inscription “Military Diplomatic Academy” is a symbol of your institution's dynamic development achieved through the work of the entire staff. It symbolizes your high status, new opportunities and tasks. The leadership of the Ministry of Defence is convinced that you will honourably carry out those tasks. After all, you are our pride and the future of our nation's military diplomacy”.
In his turn, the Head of the Military Diplomatic Academy thanked Mr. Ivashchenko for the Banner presentation. “The Banner is a symbol of honour, valour and glory. It obliges every member of the Armed forces of Ukraine to serve the Ukrainian people faithfully, to defend the Ukrainian state with courage, skill and firmness, not sparing one's own life”, he said.
