Fifth international Symposium on Security in the Black Sea/Baltic Sea Regions comes to an end in Kyiv. Initiated in 2006, similar symposiums were then held in Romania, Georgia, and Bulgaria.
Fifth international Symposium on Security in the Black Sea/Baltic Sea Regions comes to an end in Kyiv. Initiated in 2006, similar symposiums were then held in Romania, Georgia, and Bulgaria.
This year’s event is attended by representatives of defence intelligence agencies, defence attachés from 17 countries, two international organizations, as well as experts from the Security Service of Ukraine, Foreign Ministry of Ukraine, Ministry of the Interior of Ukraine etc.
In her opening speech at the beginning of the Symposium, Raisa Bohatyreva, Secretary of the Council for National Security and Defence of Ukraine stated: “The results of our work during the current Symposium should not only concern defining and identifying of major issues that various Black Sea, Caspian nations face, but also the development of specific recommendations concerning further actions”.
In his turn, Minister of Defence of Ukraine Mykhailo Ezhel expressed his confidence that issues of security concerns in the Black Sea, Baltic Sea regions be thoroughly analyzed during the Symposium and possible common solutions and answers be suggested.
