Tragic page in the history of our nation

Today, a briefing was held at the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, HQ dedicated to the 24th anniversary of the Chernobyl tragedy – history’s largest manmade disaster.
Lieutenant General of the Militia Anatoly Shnurenko, Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Ministry of the Inferior veterans Association delivered a lecture about “The Chernobyl disaster as a tragic page in the history of our nation”.



In his speech, Anatoly Shnurenko told the audience about the immortal feat of those heroes who participated in the relief operation after the terrible disaster of the 20th century and sacrificed their lives in order to stop the deadly peril from spreading. “The aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster of April 26, 1986 and its terrifying lessons have not yet been fully comprehended, although it has been 24 years since we live in the reality which came to being after that tragic April day,” he said.
